Premier danseur at Ballet of the Paris Opera
Born in Seoul, Sae Eun Park received the Benois Prize for Dance in Moscow, 2018. Created in 1991, the Benois Dance Prize is one of the most prestigious awards in the world in the field of classical ballet. Sae Eun rewarded for her lead role in “Diamonds”, excerpt from Jewels of choreographer George Balanchine.
Sae-Eun took her first steps at the National Academy of Korean Ballet at the age of 10. In 2006, at the age of 16, she received the Junior Silver medal at the “International Ballet Competition” in Jackson USA and the Senior Silver Medal at the Beijing International. In 2007, she won the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland, which allowed her to join the ABT II – American Ballet Theater in New York for two years. In May 2009, Sae Eun was received at the National Ballet of Korea as a special member where she expanded her repertoire, including “Odette-Odile” in Swan Lake and “Marie” in The Nutcracker. These experiences allowed her to be promoted Etoile in January 2010. In August 2011, Sae Eun entered the Paris Opera Ballet for a period of one year, then became tenured the following year. Sae Eun landed the position of soloist two years later and was promoted to the current rank of “premier danseur” in 2016, the second-highest tier in the Paris Opera Ballet.
