Hyuk Lee was born in Seoul on 4 January 2000, began his career in music as a student of violin and piano when he was just three years old. Hyuk had great enthusiasm for listening to music and learning musical instruments since Hyuk was very young, and continued to enjoy his interest in music and decided to do homeschooling. Hyuk steadily continued his studies at the Sunhwa Pre-college Music Academy.
After taking the grand prize at the 2009 Little Mozart Competition, Hyuk had the privilege of being invited by the Mirabell Chamber Orchestra to a concert in Salzburg, Austria. Since that time, as a pianist Hyuk has been aiming for a bigger development. Hyuk began to take the challenge of studying piano more and more seriously.
In 2012, Hyuk had the honor of being the youngest person to win the grand prize at 8th Moscow International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists, as well as winning the Best Concerto Award prize for his performance with orchestra.
Hyuk always has a big interest in the chamber ensemble, and received the First prize at the 8th Moscow Beethoven Festival in group “Chamber Ensemble”, Moscow, Russia. In 2016, At the age of 16, Hyuk won the 10th Paderewski Competition which was a first senior piano competition for him, as the youngest contestant in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Hyuk entered Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory when he was 16 years old and continued his concert activity at various concert hall and festival in Europe and elsewhere, such as Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, 72nd Duszniki Chopin Piano Festival, Bolshoi Hall of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Czech Smetana Hall, Rudolfinum(Dvorak Hall), Eindhoven Muziekgebouw, Seoul Arts Center. In November 2018 Hyuk received the 3rd prize at the X Hamamatsu International Piano Competition.
